The process has begun for repainting the Beach Flats Neighborhood Mural that was painted over by the City a few years ago.
Santa Cruz City and The City Arts Council has been working with the goal to ensure that the repainting of the mural reflects the neighborhood.
As part of this process two visioning workshops were planned in December to gather ideas and input from neighbors. These photos are from the second workshop.
The process continued on Saturday February 6th from 11:00am – 2:00pm at the Nueva Vista Community Resources Community Room located at 113 Leibrant Ave. The community was invited to “Come share your stories of the original mural. Your stories will help to inform what the new mural looks like and what it represents.” There was a StoryCorps booth on site to record oral histories of the past mural.
